Key Projects 2025
Library Development
We support underfunded schools around the world to develop their library materials and support their literacy needs.
-
Libraries around the world are facing increasing financial pressure. In many places, budgets are being cut drastically, or were never available to begin with. Unfortunately, this is a widespread issue that affects libraries regardless of a country’s wealth or infrastructure.
At FOUNDATIONS IN LITERACY, we believe that access to knowledge and community resources should never be compromised due to lack of funding. That’s why we’re committed to supporting libraries directly—by providing them with the materials, tools, and resources they need to thrive. We do this by working closely with the librarians and teachers responsible to curate lists and buy books for their collections.
So far, in our first year of operations, we’ve been able to assist libraries in Switzerland, the United States, and Mexico, and we’re actively working to expand our efforts to even more countries in the near future.
Literacy Education
We are funding and developing a new English-language literacy resource for families and educators called STORYVOR, arriving Summer 2025.
-
STORYVOR is more than just another book website. It's a movement to champion and support reading in all its forms, to spark a love of reading in young people and to empower parents, teachers, and educators with the tools they need to raise curious, confident, and lifelong readers.
STORYVOR offers thoughtfully curated book lists, in-depth and age-appropriate reviews, and research-based strategies from experts in literacy and education. Whether you're looking for the perfect book to match a child's interests or seeking guidance on how to foster reading at home or in the classroom, STORYVOR is here to help.
The platform officially launches in August 2025, but you can already sign up for updates or follow along on social media to stay in the loop.
Teaching Resources
We’ve recently begun working with a school in Mahahual, Mexico, supporting their literacy program and curriculum needs for teaching English as a second language.
-
No matter what form your literacy project takes, if we see potential, we find a way to support it. One example is our work in Mahahual, Mexico. A community program there was seeking help with its bilingual reading and music program. Through our connections, FOUNDATIONS IN LITERACY heard of the project and stepped in to fund a multi-week teaching residency, as well as supplies and a tailored curriculum. During this time, a dedicated educator to Mahahual, where they lived and worked on-site at the community center, creating meaningful impact through hands-on learning.
